>> The purity of these oils is spot on. There are absolutely no fillers, synthetics, artificial fragrances, dyes, pesticides or any other harmful nasties. You’re getting 100% pure essential oil and nothing else, which is so crucial.
>> dōTERRA produces Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® (CPTG) oils. They are beyond food grade, and a world apart from what you find in the health food store and supermarket. With little formal regulation of the essential oil industry it’s open for any company to write “pure” on their bottles and sell it as something it isn’t. To ensure they could be set apart from your average bottles and assure the highest possible quality, dōTERRA created the CPTG® standard. Every batch of oil is triple tested and to ensure they are completely pure and highly effective.
“CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils mean something very different. It means we protect the chemical compound of the plant just as it was produced from the earth. We don’t need to improve upon that. If we have the care, the scientific knowledge, the commitment and the integrity, we can preserve that.”
-Dr. David K. Hill, dōTERRA’s Chief Medical Officer.
>> The ethics of dōTERRA makes it a company I’m excited to work with. The plants are sourced from over 40 countries where they are natively grown (including Australia for tea tree and eucalyptus) using dōTERRA’s unique Co-Impact Sourcing model. Co-Impact Sourcing is the model by which long term relationships are developed with framers to ensure sustainable jobs, fair wages, mutually beneficial partnerships and a commitment to supporting local communities. Growers and harvesters are encouraged to form cooperatives to improve their skills and capacity, and the communities are further supported by the Healing Hands Foundation which has built essential infrastructure and education facilities in farming communities.
For example, since doTERRA has been sourcing vetiver oil in Haiti the average wage of farmers has increased 500%. Check out this video, it’s beautiful (and known to cause a few tears).
>> The extraction methods used by dōTERRA are in line with the Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® (CPTG) standards. They understand that when essential oils are purchased for therapeutic purposes and with the intention of being incorporated into a wellness plan, that positive results are expected. Ensuring that toxic solvents are not used in the extraction process is of primary concern to dōTERRA with regard to their extraction processes, rather, steam distillation and cold extraction are used instead.
Steam Distillation is the most common way to extract essential oils from plants. It’s used for oils obtained from leaves, flowers and bark (eg. peppermint, ylang ylang and Hawaiian Sandalwood) and the pressures, times and temperatures used for extraction varies depending on the plant.
Cold Extraction does not involve heat, and is used for citruses (eg. grapefruit, lemon, lime, wild orange and bergamot). Again, pressures, temperature and time are all important and are adjusted depending on the plant to ensure the quality of the essential oil is not diminished during the extraction.
>> The integrity of the company owners and medical team is outstanding. They teach integrity, safe usage, personal empowerment and a common sense approach to business. Various pathways to personal and financial abundance are available, and the dōTERRA supports each individual to achieve this in a way that’s right for them.
>> There’s a whole world of products available to you which incorporate dōTERRA’s essential oils. From skin care to nutritional supplements, laundry liquid, toothpaste and muscle rub, there’s something for everything…and everyone.
